Mike Spatola 1 Mike Spatola 2Landrum Performance Spring is happy to have the next driver Profile on Mike “Opie” Spatola. A great racer and super guy. We wish him the very best in 2014!  Mike started racing at the young age of 8 when his dad purchased their first go-kar…t. In 5 years racing go-karts he totaled over 200 wins with national and regional track championships. In 2005 his brother passed down the family Ump Modified. Mike finished the season with Kankaee and Crown Point Speedway rookie of the year honors at the young age of 13. They ran a total of 5 years in the Ump Modified division before they made the decision to move to Late Models in 2011.  In 2013 Mike ran a limited schedule after averaging 80 races per year for the past 8. He ran a total of 21 races with 3 feature wins and 14 top 5’s.  Looking back at his career he list winning his first 2 Summer National starts and making the World 100 during his rookie season in a Late Model as a couple of his best racing memories.  We asked him from a guy that has had success in his career what would he tell someone that is just starting out? Mike states ” you never know it all just listen to everyone’s input and take what you think works best for you and hard work pays off”.   As we all know a racer cannot do it alone. Mike would like to thank the following for helping him over the years. Big Daddy Scrap, T&S Heating and Cooling, Modern Carriage Werks, Allstar Perfromance, Lane Automotive, Fast Shafts, Vp racing fuels, Bell racing, Marquette Radiator, Rhyne Competition Engines, Rod End Supply, Dyer’s Top Rods, Afco Racing Products, Action Suspension, Ted Browns Quality, Isc Racers Tape, Port City, CPD Fabrication & Welding, Out-Pace Racing Products, Sweet Mfg., Basset Wheels, R2C Competition Filters, Howe Racing Enterprises, KFP Magnum Pads, Advanced Suspension, Peterson Fluid Systems, Franklin Rear Ends, CV Products, Wrisco, Fastlane Wraps, Delph Communications, Hoosier Racing Tire, Brinn Transmissions, Outwears, Bob Pierce Racecars, Wilwood Performace, and Landrum Performance Springs.  When we asked Mike why he choose Landrum he stated  ” As a driver we are always looking for a lighter and better performing product, I found just that with Landrum Springs. I have weighted and dyno tested every spring on the market and the weight of Landrum Springs is similar to their competitors but there performance is next to none! The third and most important is their customer service. Jeff Fuller is one of the nicest guys I know and him and his team treat you like your family. I have know Jeff for many years now and we have built a great relationship together. That is the most important thing in my eyes. A company that has relationships with their customers only makes the company and their customers better”.See More
