Bump Stop Springs

How Do Bump Stop Springs Work?

Landrum Bump Stop Springs are used in conjunction with primary springs to limit suspension travel during compression. This allows a race car to have a relatively soft initial spring rate and as the suspension nears its maximum compression the bump stop springs, with a higher rate, progressively absorb force. This cushions impacts, prevents the car from bottoming out, and keeps the tires in better contact with the track.

Bump Stop Spring Quality

Landrum Bump Stop Springs are made at our Indiana, USA facility and use the same excellent Landrum engineering, materials and manufacturing techniques as our larger coil springs and coil over springs.

  • Designed using the latest spring design software and state-of-the-art engineering technology.
  • Only the best grade of high tensile chrome silicon alloy steel is used for strength, durability, and lightness.
  • Use of high-quality steel and an intensive heat and press process ensure bump springs maintain free length and rate throughout a near Infinite operational life.

Bump Stop Spring Lengths and Rates

With many bump spring lengths and rates available, race teams can find just the right springs to fine-tune their car’s handling.

  • 1.96” OD
  • 2.125” and 2.4” Lengths
  • Rates: 300 – 8,000 lb./in
